Cecil Arthur Taylor was born inCamberwell, South East London, and enlisted locally atCamberwell into theRoyal Field Artillery, later serving as aGunner (No. L/15116). He served with“C” Battery, 122nd Brigade, Royal Field Artillery, part of the British Army’s artillery arm which played a central role in all major operations on the Western Front.
