1774 HAWICK- Cheque for £4- Richard Bill on his account with William Ogilvie esq. of Hartwood Myers. The Hartwoodmyres estate has a long history, with records tracing farmhouses on the land back to at least the early 19th century (and historical records of the Ogilvie family associated with the property going back into the late 17th century).
