This booklet was published in 1863 / 1864 to use a fully manufactured lie to influence the presidential election of that year. Considered a literary forgery, the booklet was supposedly from the abolitionist Republicans of Abraham Lincoln but is actually from the pro-slavery Copperhead Democrats.
