Royal Air Force St Athan commemorative cover celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the outright winning of the Schneider Trophy. This is a limited edition certified copy (No 105 of 984) and was flown in McDonnell Phantom FGR2 XT896 over the 1931 Schneider Trophy route at 1000 feet. The cover is hand-signed by Air Vice Marshal S. N. Webster, CBE, AFC, who won the Schneider Trophy for Great Britain in 1927 flying the Supermarine S.5. Postmarked 12 Sept 81 at RAF St Athan. The reverse is further certified and signed by Flg Off G. Latham. The item is in excellent condition and includes the original historical information insert cards regarding the history of RAF St Athan and AVM S. N. Webster.
