The Winterhilfswerk des Deutschen Volkes (WHW), or Winter Relief of the German People, was an annual donation drive initiated by the Nazi regime in 1933 to provide winter aid to needy citizens. As a major, state-controlled charity, it was used to promote Volksgemeinschaft and raised substantial funds through mass participation.
