A fine officers 1st pattern steel helmet with cover. The pea green paint is mostly present with a few small areas of surface rust, as expected. The helmet has a private purchase liner which is stamped "Hawkes Patent British 17486, Canadian 14419, India 442 all of 1912, a desirable feature, along with the original four part hessian cover with Royal Artillery badge attached. A two part chin strap differs to the regular Brodie type. The condition is extremely fine with slight wear to the leather inner and a repair to the cover.
