Antique 19th C. French Military Plate. 'Paris Municipal Guard' by Creil. Manufactured by Creil and dates from around 1850. The reverse of the plate is impressed with the maker’s mark, “Creil”. This very attractive plate has a white faience glaze with a finely detailed black transfer design depicting soldiers of the ‘Garde Municipale De La Ville De Paris’ (Municipal Guard of the City of Paris).
