A pair of Oriental, 19th century black lacquered papier mâché match stick holders, beautifully decorated in the popular Chinoiserie style which was popular during the Victorian period. The gold decoration and imagery reflect the favoured Eastern inspired designs that were highly fashionable during the 19th century.
