A decorative vignette around the engraving includes scenes of Napoleon at Waterloo, and Wellington at Waterloo. Luke Clennell (1781 - 1840) was a British painter and engraver. Clennell was one of the thirteen artists submitting works to the British Gallery in January 1816 for a competition by the British Institution for the best sketches connected with recent victories of the British Army, with the prize of one thousand guineas.
