This rare Antique 19th Century Oriental Papier-Mâché Snuff Box is a beautiful example of expert craftsmanship from the late 19th century. Measuring 9cm x 6cm x 2.5cm, it features a delightful and detailed Japanese hand-painted heritage scene on the lid, depicting a lady being carried in a Kago or traditional palanquin. The concealed hinged lid opens and closes snugly, preserving its original functionality and charm. In extremely good antique used condition, the painted scene is clear, the lid opens and closes and it is a good solid example with expected wear and markings for age, no cracks or major damage. This is a great collectable. Please do view all photos as they form part of the item description. Items are carefully packaged and posted out same or next day
