A rare and unique MSM to the Northumberland fusiliers , served in Northern Home Command . Never served abroad only medal he was awarded. At some point he was served as a ordererly Room Sgt attached to training battalion of the MGC - Machine Gun Corps He originally enlisted into the 30th Bn ( Tyneside Irish ) This was a reserve and training unit . Born - Sunderland 1887 Marriage - Sunderland 1910 Employed as a Clerk in a Brewery also worked in Tramway offices too. Died 25-2-1919 at Military Hospital , Rugeley Camp, Staffordshire Buried Bishopwearmouth cemetery, Sunderland .
