The REPRODUCTION Belgian Order of Leopold medal, which was instituted on the 11 June 1832 by King Leopold I of the Belgians. The central disk of the order features a gold Belgian lion set in black with the motto of the order around the red edge – “L'UNION FAIT LA FORCE” meaning ‘The Union Makes Strong’. The Order has crossed swords making this the military version. PLEASE NOTE: The crossed swords are slighly BENT - as highlighted in photo 2. There is NO pin to allow attachment to clothing and the ribbon is DAMAGED and has NO pin. This medal would grace any enthusiasts’ collection or could be used as part of a theatrical costume.
