An original British War Medal and Victory Medal awarded to R/34068 Pte R Sillett of The King’s Royal Rifle Corps. Reginald Sillett was born in 1889 at Islington. By 1911, he was working as a furniture porter in Stoke Newington. Reginald served with the 16th Battalion, King’s Royal Rifle Corps during the Great War. He was Mentioned in Despatches in the London Gazette on 8th July 1919, as an acting L/Cpl with the 16th KRRC. After the war, he returned to his work as a furniture porter in Walthamstow. By 1939 he was working as a builders labourer, still in Walthamstow. During WW2 he was a Demolition worker with the ARP. Reginald died in 1970. Please see photos for condition.
