c1942/43 WWII colour printed POSTCARD: “A SOLDIER - HIS PRAYER”. The poem was found on a scrap of paper during the Battle of El Aqheila, Eastern Libya. The battle is described as a brief but pivotal engagement in the Western Desert from 12 - 18 December 1942. The postcard is in the Valentine ‘Helpful Thoughts’ series. In good unposted condition with a few surface marks and minor corner wear. Very faint mounting impressions can be seen on each corner. Postage at cost Royal Mail Tracked 48.
