We see how breeches give way to trousers and the ornate braiding, gold edging and lace are gradually pared down. Also included is a 1925 Subaltern wearing “plus fours” and puttees which had been adopted in the First World War, battle dress from 1950, kilts of the Irish and Scots Guards and No. 1 Dress of the Coldstream Guards of 1960.
