Edward Strutt, Everest, 1948. Strutt was Climbing Leader on the 1922 Everest Expedition and President of the Alpine Club, 1935-1938, as well as a distinguished soldier in the First World War. I always thought of him with his iron constitution which even the severe wounds of 1914 failed to shatter.
