This booklet was published in 1863 / 1864 as a hoax or "fake news" to influence the presidential election of that year. Considered a literary forgery, the booklet was supposedly from the abolitionist Republicans of Abraham Lincoln but is actually from the pro-slavery Copperhead Democrats.
