Possibly an 1877 colonial pattern tropical pith sun helmet and was the type used during the Zulu wars. This one has a Cameron Highlanders helmet plate. There is some water damage to the cloth covering but all in all the condition is very good. There is no makers or outfitters mark to the interior but having researched this, “the military sun hats of the world “ reference book indicates that this was something that could be absent. The helmet is in great condition overall and is a wonderful display piece.
