French Late 19th Century to early WW1 Stable/Cavalry Jacket Fire Service

£99.50

This vintage French stable/cavalry jacket dates from the late 19th century to the early part of WW1 and was used by the Fire Service. It is made from a navy blue Melton wool and has brass buttons down the front. It would have been worn by the French cavalry. The jacket does have signs of wear and small holes to the front bottom near the button hole and on one sleeve, the lining also has some smoke damage (see photos). Otherwise, this is a lovely piece of French history and in good condition for it's age. The measurements are: 19" armpit to armpit, 17" across the shoulders, 24" sleeve length and 26" length from bottom of collar to hem.
