This rare little curiosity is a jukebox wallbox made in the UK by Melodyvend probably in around 1950. Its a coin operated, 6d, non-selective type which contained a speaker and an illuminated panel. The interior mechanism was produced by the Automatic Light Controlling Co. of Hoddenhurst Road, Bournemouth who specialised in producing control switches for gas valves and electric lighting etc. This example is in fair cosmetic order but is missing its lock and coin tray. Internally it appears intact but the speaker is missing. Its a rare thing that could be used as originally intended or would make a cool looking housing for a Bluetooth speaker.
