Louis Philippe I, King of France. Signed Louis Philippe. He abdicated from his throne during the French Revolution of 1848, which led to the foundation of the French Second Republic. Under the Charte Constitutionnelle of 1830 (enacted after the July Revolution), the King was required to convoke the two chambers—the Chamber of Peers and the Chamber of Deputies—every year.
