Old Vtg WWII 1940s Mans Sweater Unusual Shoulder Openings Swastik Label Military

I'm thinking the sweater had either a military purpose or possible a sports use. The sweater has seen heavy use, it's out of shape, the cuffs and waist are worn and pulled and there are several darned holes as seen in our photo's.
