An original WW1 German Maxim MG08 wooden ammo box/crate for 250 round belt 7.62 c 1915 Size approx. 15 x 8 x 4" with press button latch. Iron hinge on lid with recessed folding carry handle. Has some woodworm / cracks as to be expected but still solid (treated) A rare survivor as most were lost and rotted away, or used as firewood in the trenches.
