This is rare British Victorian copper bodied powder flask for a pocket pistol or small calibre revolver. Manufactured by Sykes Patent . Brass spout is marked "SYKES PATENT". Brass collar and tapered spout with spring operated shutter. An attractive flask ideal to be put in a cased pistol set. Some dents in very good condition with nice clean unpolished body, no splits, good screw threads. Spring shutter works. This copper and brass powder flask features a "Pharaoh's Horses" design with embossed acanthus, scrolls and a vignette to either side containing a trio of horses. The flask includes a working spring mechanism and measurements in Drams. In very good condition for its age. Has a few small ‘dings’ as shown in photos.
