This is a Rare pair of Ross of London Field Glasses produced c1899-1901 (2nd Boer War era) The field glasses were acquired for service in the First World War by National Service League in 1914 and issued to a British Officer or NCO. The engraved markings to the field glasses are X 8 magnification No 2336 is the serial number which dates them to c1899-1901 N S L is National Service League V 2746 was the tracking number so that they could be returned to the owner who donated them. The glasses are in very good working condition with no damage and clear optics they do have obvious signs of use, they come with there original leather strap in good condition and case although the lid has become detached and the case strap is mostly missing.
