A real collector’s piece. Ceramic tankard which previously belonged to well known Avro Vulcan pilot and QFI Sqn Ldr Joe L’Estrange AFM (later also AFC) by the Officers of No 44 (Rhodesia) Squadron. Accompanied by an original photo of the man himself stood in front of Vulcan XM652, one of the squadron Vulcans. This great tankard was regularly used by Joe to enjoy a relaxing beer after a day in the air so shows some small signs of use consistent with its age such as a small amount of discolouration on the interior and mild crazing. Please see photos for details. No 44 (Rhodesia) Squadron was equipped from August 1960 until December 1982 with Avro Vulcan Mks 1 and 2. A rare and unusual piece of RAF Avro Vulcan history.
