During the war he served primarily in theMiddle East theatre, including service inEgypt, Cyprus, Syria and Libya. Nelson Fuller Coghill was born on12 October 1912 at Toxteth, Liverpool, the son ofPercy De Geiger Coghill (1865–1937) andEdith Lizzie Dawson (1871–1940).
