This is a scarce c1899-02 vintage Boer War souvenir matchstriker/holder.Onmone side it has sepia pictures of Lord Roberts and two Boer War soldiers holding bayonet fitted rifles and on the reverse pictures of both Lord Kitchener and Sir Redvers Buller.It is manufactured by Carltonware China Stoke On Trent with their early blue printed mark and an Rd No352043.It is in an excellent condition with obvious signs of age wear and use around the gilt top and a very tiny edge hairline.The matchholder overall measurements are 7.1cm in diameter x 5.5cm tall.
