Cohen was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II in 1969. An original signed card by Sir John "Jack" Cohen (1898–1979), founder of the Tesco supermarket chain. Written in blue ink in his own hand, the card reads "Kind Regards, Sir John Cohen" — the use of his knighthood title dates this piece to after 1969, when he was appointed Knight Bachelor in the New Year Honours.
