This pretty little radio is a model called The Comet made in London by The Champion Electric Corporation Ltd. They are quite rare sets, particularly this, the square dial version from around 1947. Its in fair condition with all its knobs and most of its original transfer printed logo. The tuning knob doesn't turn the dial so presumably the cord needs attention. The radio is one of a collection recently cleared by a firm who routinely cut the plugs off electrical items to avoid PAT testing, it is consequently sold as untested with no guarantee to its function.
