This is a Victorian British Cavalry 1885 pattern white buff leather belt with brass snake buckle. The belt is marked with what looks like J T or J J in purple ink it also has 398 in black ink which would have been the last three numbers of the trooper it also has a printed ink mark J S likely the manufacturer. The buckle is in the form of a two headed snake with rosette to the centre. The leather is still soft with no damage only staining.
