A 19th-century lacquered papier-mâché snuff box featuring intricate gold gilt tooling .Similar boxes from this era, typically dated between 1850 and 1890, served as pocket containers for tobacco. The piece has a hinged lid and shows typical wear consistent with its age, such as slight paint loss or surface scratches. Small damage to one corner as shown in photograph.
