This dainty mug which stands at 8 cm high is a vintage 1887 commemorative mug marking Queen Victoria's Golden Jubilee, specifically referencing "Sandal Magna". The mug features transfer-printed portraits of Queen Victoria as both a young woman and as Queen in 1887. There is no makers mark but it is consistent with designs produced by Doulton Burslem to celebrate this royal event. The condition of the mug is fair for its age- there are a couple of hairline cracks and some small chips at the base. It is crazed which is common in antique pottery of this age. See photos.
