This is a fabulous item from approx the 1940's! It is a wooden darning egg, with a mending hook, for repairing laders and small holes in fine hosiery, like tights and stockings. There are no instructions with this item, but there is a channel cut into one side of the egg, which you align with the ladder/ hole, and then repair with the egg. You should be able to find more detailed instructions on the internet. This is a fabulous Vintage item in very good, used condition! The egg is 2 5/8" long, with a central diameter of 1 5/8", and the hook is 3 1/2" in length. Please read the listing in full and supersize all photos as I do not take returns on Vintage items, so items are bought as seen and described.
