This is an army surplus map bag originally issued to the East German Nationale Volksarmee (NVA). It is made from thick (2.5mm) black leather, front back inner. The sides are black synthetic - see photos. The small pockets under the flap are leather. The body is in good contition, a few scratches, but the stitching seems good and the leather is flexible no splits. Roughly 20 x 24 x 5 cm Bag and strap weigh 578g The strap is leather, roughly 1m long, it is flexible, but there are some small surface/partial splits, see photos. I think it is ok, but you may not, anyway I have priced the bag accordingly. Doesn't have strong army surplus smell!
