Great piece of vintage medical memorabilia. Iodine pencils were a popular form of topical antiseptic, particularly in the mid-20th century, before the widespread availability of antiseptic wipes and sprays. They consisted of a solid stick of iodine, often encased in a protective holder, designed for easy application to cuts, scrapes, and minor injuries. Their portability and effectiveness made them a staple in many households and first-aid kits. Found amongst my late father’s bits and bobs. Any questions please ask :)
