The exterior is a detailed reproduction of an 1870 Napoleon III coin. The reverse features the laureate head of the Emperor with the inscription "NAPOLEON III EMPEREUR". It features a pivot-open design that conceals a classic striker wheel and wick mechanism. Crafted from silver, copper &bronze-toned metals. While styled after a 19th-century coin these are largely vintage novelties from the 1960s or 1970s manufactured in Japan.
