Vintage Salmon's Tea double sided enamel sign c1900

£175

This rare "Salmon's Tea" double side enamel sign is in "as found" condition. Salmon and Son, tea merchants were established in the 1840's in Reading, by the mid-1880s, Salmon's Teas were available in most of the towns in Southern England. The company ceased trading in 1917. The sign has some enamel losses and nibbles to the edges, as well as patches of enamel loss and rust staining to the body on both sides, as well as the scratches, scuffs and marks you would expect for a used item that has spent it's life outside. The mounting bracket is missing. I have tried to show the condition in the photographs. It measures 35.5 cm (14 inches) by 18 (7 inches). This scarce sign will still display really well.
