17514 Pte. (later Cpl.) Richard Oliver, briefly 10th Bn., Green Howards, then 8th Bn. He was from a colliery family in Durham and worked underground in various roles. Also included are 3 typed pages from the 8th Battalion War Diary covering the attack at Contalmaison in early July 1916.
