A matching set of restored original 1939 dated British Army Mess tins. This set was sent to the Finnish Army during the Winter War as british aid, and was subsequently lost. They were dug up near St Petersburg 2 years ago and restored by a local relic restorer for the reenactor market. External pittings to the mess tins have been filled with food safe aluminium epoxy. Pitting to the inside has been left as is. There is a name initials to the bottom of the larger half made with a pointed punch, something very commonly seen in Eastern European armies of the time.
