Harold remained a lifelong resident of Devon until his passing in 1970 at the age of 67. Born in Exeter in 1903, Harold trained as an engineering apprentice at the Weymouth Torpedo Works before officially qualifying and being elected to the UK Civil Engineer Lists in 1925.
