The D set was very much associated with the Vickers machine gun and formed part of the equipment carried on the Universal Carrier (Bren Gun Carrier) it was used to communicate between gun positions. There would have been a megaphone as back up ( things must have been bad if that was deployed! ). This is a nice example and has a rare separate ear phone wired in along side the telephone hand set. This would have allowed two soldiers to listen and one to speak. Overall it is in very nice condition. Buzzer is 1939 dated. I have not been inside the set.
