The pair of dividers/compasses are stamped with the AM signatory and Thorntons. Both the dividers and wooden box are 1942 issue. The box measures approx 16cm long and 2.5cm wide. The pair of dividers measure approx. 13cm from end of the handle to the tip. The set comes with a small metal case that houses the spare leads and the spare spike. The ends are interchangeable to enable the instrument to be used as either a pair of dividers or a pair of compasses. It currently has a lead fitted in the second arm. The second spike is present but has some rusting to the surface. Please see photographs for details. The instrument is in otherwise good condition and in working order. The box is intact. There is some surface wear/ marking to the outside of the box. Please see photographs.
