A substantial and highly personal Second World War RAF Observer’s and Air Gunner’s Flying Log Book, kept by 913207 H/Sgt R. Bowles, later recorded as Warrant Officer R. Bowles. His training and service took him through South Africa, Egypt, Northern Ireland and Scotland, before he joined No. 283 Squadron at Hal Far, Malta, in August 1944.
