Japanese WW2 1000-Stitch Belt (Sennibari)

£146.30

A very nice 1000-stitch belt, made of cotton and consisting of rows of printed red dots and carrying the traditional one thousand overlayed stitches, which in this case are joined, not separate. These belts were giving as gifts by families to soldiers about to depart for the war. It would then have been wrapped around the body of the soldier under his field uniform to 'protect' him in battle. Belt size: width 6.5 ins. length 44 ins The belt carries a central shrine stamp and a lucky coin has also been sewn to the front. It is in lovely condition with no tears or moth holes. There is very slight discolouring due to age. THANKS FOR LOOKING
